ADRM at the 15th EUSDR Annual Forum
In 2026, Bulgaria assumed the Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), a year that also marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of this important European framework for cooperation. The highlight of the anniversary year was the 15th Annual Forum of the Strategy, held on 3 and 4 November in Sofia under the motto “Connected Regions, Greater Cohesion. A Stronger Danube for All.”
The Association of Danube River Municipalities “Danube” (ADRM “Danube”) was among the active participants in the event, with its own information stand in the Danube Village – the forum’s dedicated exhibition space showcasing the work of the EUSDR Priority Areas and projects contributing to the development of the region. There, the Association presented its activities, initiatives and information materials to an international audience, with a particular focus on the projects BlueMission Danube-Black Sea 2030, EcoDaLLi, SoS2LearnDbs, DAnube WETlands RESToration, Roman Legacy and DANUrB Community.
The forum was attended by Mr. Milen Dulev, Chair of the Management Board and Mayor of Belene Municipality; the Vice-Chairs of the Management Board – Mr. Pencho Milkov, Mayor of Ruse Municipality, and Dr. Dimitar Stefanov, Mayor of Tutrakan Municipality – together with the ADRM “Danube” team. Meetings and discussions were held with partners, institutions and stakeholders, focusing on the exchange of experience, the discussion of shared priorities and the exploration of opportunities for future joint initiatives.
For ADRM “Danube”, this participation was an important opportunity to showcase its work, strengthen its presence within the Danube cooperation network and highlight the role of local and regional organisations in translating European priorities into tangible actions and results for citizens.
Fifteen years of the Danube Strategy mean fifteen years of joint efforts towards connectivity, development and cooperation. The Association of Danube River Municipalities “Danube” continues to be an active part of this process!
We would like to express our special gratitude to the National Coordinator, Ms. Vyara Mincheva, and the team of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Danube Strategy for the excellent organisation of the forum and the fruitful partnership throughout the past year.
