ADRM "Danube"at the Danube Conference on Culture 2016
On the 24th and 25th November 2016, the fourth edition of the Danube Conference on Culture on "Projects for Regional Cooperation in the Danube Region - Together on Danube to Europe" took place in Ruse. Ruse was given the opportunity to host the event, which was held for the first time in Bulgaria under the patronage of Mrs. Petra Olschowski, State Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arta of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) and Mr. Plamen Stoilov, Mayor of Ruse. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Municipal Foundation "Ruse - Free Spirit City", the Association of Danube River Municipalities "Danube" (ADRM), the European Danube Academy - Ulm, the Council of Danube Cities and Regions and other partner organizations from Bulgaria and the Danube Region.
The series of Danube Conferences on Culture started in 2013 in the city of Ulm in connection with the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. In 2014, the household was taken over by Novi Sad (Serbia), and in 2015 the traditional conference was moved to Timisoara (Romania). The main objective of the conference is to create a platform for the exchange of experience between cultural and creative industries in the Danube region, to present relevant good practices and promising projects, to stimulate debate on the future of cultural policies and to strengthen cultural diversity of the region through the initiation of different forms of multinational cooperation. At the 4th Danube Conference on Culture in Ruse, guests from many Danube countries, including representatives of national, regional and local authorities, artists, academics, cultural figures and cultural operators, journalists, diplomats, and others, took part.
The added value of the 4th Danube Conference on Culture was the opportunity to participate in the "Ideas Fair" on the agenda of the second conference day where ideas for cooperation in the fields of culture and the arts were presented.
