9th Bulgarian-Hungarian Forum "Maritime Academy 2020"

The 9th Bulgarian-Hungarian Forum "Maritime Academy 2020" took place between June 4th and 7th in Sunny Beach. The event was organized by the Association of Danube River Municipalities "Danube" and took place under the patronage of Mr. Krassimir Valchev, Minister of Education and Science and H.E. Ms. Tekla Harangozo, Ambassador of Hungary to the Republic of Bulgaria. There is also an established cooperatio with partners from the 8th, 11th and 12th districts in the city of Budapest and with the Municipality of Nessebar.

A wide range of representatives of education and organizations from Bulgaria and Hungary (mayors, chairpersons of municipal councils and councilors, heads of units, experts, directors, teachers, etc.) came together. The sustainability of the Bulgarian-Hungarian Forum is evidence that it is recognized as a platform for bilateral exchange of best practices between education and all stakeholders responsible for the implementation of school and education policies. "This year, the event belongs to the context of the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Danube River Municipalities as the first regional organization of local authorities in Bulgaria. In the activity of the Association education is a significant priority as a prerequisite for the development of prepared young people and a competitive economy in the region", said Mr. Plamen Stoilov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Association, in his opening address.

Annually, "Maritime Academy 2020" continues with the visit in the city of Budapest in the autumn.
