New pilot initiative of the European Strategy for the Danube Region

START – Danube Region Project Fund is a new pilot initiative of the European Strategy for the Danube Region (EU Strategy for the Danube Region - EUSDR), which provides funding for the development and implementation of projects for the Danube Region. Beneficiaries receive advance funding to cover the cost of the project from the very beginning. This, especially, helps small organizations with limited resources to start their own projects.
The general distribution of START totals € 900,000, 95% of the funding comes from the European Commission and 5% - from the City of Vienna. The implementation of START will continue until the end of 2016, provided with two calls for proposals.
