The Association of Danube Municipalities “Danube” took part in the International Tourism Trade Fair ITB Berlin 2026, held from 3–5 March 2026 in Berlin, Germany—one of the largest and most prestigious events in the global tourism industry. During the three-day exhibition, the Association had its own stand within the national stand of Bulgaria, where the tourism potential of the Danube municipalities was presented.

The participation of the Association of Danube Municipalities “Danube” in ITB Berlin has become a tradition, as in previous years the organization has actively promoted the tourism resources of the region. This year the focus was placed on the Danube Region, in connection with Bulgaria’s Presidency of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, which provided an opportunity for a more comprehensive and unified presentation of the municipalities along the river.

A delegation of the Association of Danube Municipalities “Danube” also took part in the exhibition, led by the President of the Management Board and Mayor of Belene Municipality, Mr. Milen Dulev. The delegation included representatives of the municipalities of Belene, Tutrakan, Tsenovo, and Vetovo.

A special highlight of the presentation was an interactive device through which visitors could explore 3D models of significant artifacts from the cultural and historical heritage of all 35 Danube municipalities that are members of the Association. This digital visualization provided a more modern and engaging way to present the rich heritage of the region.

The member municipalities also provided promotional materials in German and English, presenting the diverse tourist attractions and events along the Danube River.
