Danube River Municipalities at ITB Berlin 2018

For a second consecutive year, a delegation of municipalities, members of the Association of Danube River Municipalities "Danube", participated in the largest tourism fair in the German capital Berlin. Dr. Yuliyan Naydenov, Mayor of Silistra Municipality, Dr. Dimitar Stefanov, Mayor of Tutrakan Municipality, Mr. Danail Nikolov, Chairman of Tutrakan Municipal Council, Ms. Yanka Gospodinova, Mayor of Alfatar Municipality, Ms. Diana Kopcheva - Mayor of Novgrad, Tsenovo Municipality visited ITB Berlin.

ITB Berlin is one of the leading events in the world of the travel industry, gathering annually representatives from more than 180 countries from 5 continents. It is attended by more than 170,000 people. The program of the expo includes meetings, discussions and forums on current trends, problems, challenges and opportunities in tourism. Regional, national and international tourism organizations, tour operators and travel agencies, hotel owner, tourist attractions, media, news agencies and publishers take part in the tourism fair.

Representatives of the local authorities from the Danube region in Bulgaria had the opportunity to promote cultural and historical landmarks, united in two Bulgarian-Romanian routes: "Roman Frontier" and "Protected Natural Heritage". The routes were developed by the Association of Danube River Municipalities "Danube" under the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020.

The working visit organized by ADRM "Danube" is part of the long-term strategy of the organization to promote a common vision for tourism development in the Danube region and to promote the related potential at regional, national and international level.
