A delegation of ADRM “Danube” in Rome

A delegation of the Association of Danube River Municipalities “Danube” made an official visit to Rome, Italy on 14 and 15 May 2015. The purpose of the visit was the presentation of the Danube region and ADRM municipalities to businesses, associations of industries and consultants. The discussions focused on the potential for Bulgarian-Italian cooperation in various projects and for Italian investments in Bulgaria and, in particular, in the Danube region. Members of the delegation were Dr. Yuliyan Naydenov - Mayor of the Municipality of Silistra and board member of ADRM, Dr. Dimitar Stefanov - Mayor of the Municipality of Tutrakan and board member of ADRM, Maria Tzankova - Executive Director of ADRM and Margarita Tsekova - Financial Manager of ADRM.

Four events were organized by Mrs. Nadezhda Ivanova, representative of the Office of Trade and Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Bulgaria in the Republic of Italy. A seminar of ADRM’s delegation was held with 80 Italian companies, organizations and stakeholders within the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Rome. H. E. Marin Raykov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, spoke about the opportunities for economic partnerships that Bulgaria offers. Mrs. Tzankova talked about the potential for development of the Bulgarian part of the Danube in Europe, the strengths of the region and the priority areas in its development. Dr. Naydenov presented Municipality of Silistra and its priority projects in the areas of transport, tourism, food industry and agriculture. Dr. Stefanov review of key industries in Tutrakan, which may cooperate with Italian partners and talked about the cultural and historical landmarks and events in the Municipality.

There were two round tables organized with representatives of the Bulgarian community in Italy and with companies and organizations in the construction industry who have business interests in Bulgaria.

ADRM’s delegation was a guest at the headquarters of the Italian Confederation of Small and Medium Private Industry (CONFAPI) to discuss future cooperation. CONFAPI is a powerful organization with activities at national and European levels and with a developed network of contacts and partners.
